Bio-Sketch

Sudeb Dasgupta is presently working as a Professor, in Microelectronics and VLSI Group in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He obtained his Doctoral degree in Electronics Engineering from IIT-Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in the year 2000. During his Ph. D. work, he carried out research in the area of effects of ionizing radiation on MOSFET. Subsequently, he was a member of the faculty of the Department of Electronics Engineering, at the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad (IIT-Dhanbad). In 2006, he joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He also served as the Head of the Department from 2019 to 2022. He has authored/co-authored more than 250 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He is a member of IEEE, EDS, ISTE, and an associate member of the Institute of Nanotechnology, United Kingdom. He is currently handling/handled research projects amounting to approximately ₹ 5 crores. His areas of interest are Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Nanoelectronics, Nanoscale MOSFET modeling and simulation, and Design and Development of low power novel devices such as FinFET, TFET, NCFET, NCTFET. He has guided 14 Ph. D. scholars. Currently, he is supervising around 10 candidates leading to their Ph. D. degree.
